Kyra M. Sedgwick (born Kyra Minturn) is a famous American actress and television personality. Her name is known all over the world and especially in America for her role as the lead in the TV The Closer's series. Sedgwick has been fascinated by acting, art and Broadway ever since she was 12. Her introduction to Broadway through her mother she was interested in it. Sedgwick's first role as an actor was on a TV show named 'Another World.' She was sixteen years old. The actress went on to perform smaller roles on television but it was really the idea of making it big as an actress that attracted her. Her name was spotted in the grand-screen spotlight for the first time with her supporting role in the movie 'Born on July 4th' in which she appeared in the film with Tom Cruise. Sedgwick was offered more film roles following the popularity of this film, including: "Singles", "Heart and Souls", and "Phenomenon". In a television movie called "Lemon Sky" she was introduced to Kevin Bacon, an actor. The couple got married when she was just 22. Sedgwick was an incredibly popular actress on American TV for her remarkable role in "The Closer" which was a seven-season television series that earned her the Golden Globe Award and Emmy.
